Originally a member of SOLDIER, he is now a mercenary who will take on any job. After being hired by AVALANCHE, he gradually gets caught up in a massive struggle for the life of the planet. In this struggle Cloud finds out many things about his past that he beleived to be true but were really false. Cloud finds out that he was not the great mamber of SOLDIER he thought he was, he was actually a clone with implanted memories of another person. (Wich is wierd since tifa remembered him from the past even though it was a different person from the past) Also, during this struggle Cloud falls into a materia stream. In his world he became a mindless shell in a wheel chair. However, Cloud was transported to a different realm and world by some weird machine an old man and a person named Ramza dug up. When Cloud came to and saw he was not in his own world he ran off. With some of his memories missing Cloud found his way into a small town. In the town he saw a flower girl who he thought looked strangle familiar. So, Cloud defended this flower girl and after the incident Ramza met up with Cloud again. Cloud eventually decided to join Ramza's group and help them save their world. In the end,Cloud helped them save the world and after the final battle he was magically trasported out of that realm and thought he was being transported home. However, he ended up in this world with his memories back. Now Cloud is trying to find a way back home, so he can get back to trying to find Sephiroth and save the ones he cares for.
