Undine's Mother took care of her for her whole life. When she was a baby, the Atrox befriened her father. She or her mother did not know of his immense power, not knowing that he would harm them. On the first stroke on the first full moon, the Atrox came and grasped her father into the darkness, turning him into an demnic follower. It was assumed e was taken to the underworld or off this cursed planet to serve the Atorx.
Undine got her pendant from the Atrox that cursed night. He swore that when she ws of age, he would come back to the relm of the living and drag her down into the darkness. Undine was only 9 at the time and these words seemed to mean nothing to her. When Undine was 12, her mother caught an unknown ilness. Undine was ater told that she probably hed the black illness from the dreaded plague in the west. The ilness overcame her and Undine's mother died when her daughter ws meerly 12. The now homeless Undine Caddaya was sent to live with other reletaves, and none wanted her to stay. She was usually kicked out after a few months. Her powers overwelmed them and they made excuses to pass her to the next willing relative.
When Undine was 14, she was sent to live with her first cousin Hotaru Maya Caddaya.
